Covina Transit

Covina Transit Dial-A-Ride Van

The City of Covina’s Dial-A-Ride Program provides curb-to-curb transportation service within City limits for registered Covina Residents, and also travels to local medical and government offices within a three (3) mile radius of Covina. Residents 60 years of age or older and those under 60 with an Access Services membership (or approved ADA Application) are eligible for the program.

Access Rider Id

Access Services is responsible for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) mandated paratransit transportation in Los Angeles County.  Eligibility for Access Services is not based soley on a person’s disability, age or medical diagnosis.  Eligibility is based on a person’s abilities.  In order to schedule a Transit Evaluation appointment, please call (800) 827-0829 / TDD (800) 827-1359.

City of Covina residents possessing a valid Access Services identification card are also eligible for Covina Transit Dial-A-Ride.

TAP Cards

City of Covina residents who possess a valid Senior or Disabled TAP card are eligible to receive subsidized monthly METRO and Foothill Transit TAP cards. Please visit the Finance cashier, located at Covina City Hall, to reload eligible TAP cards.

Bicycle Programs

Secure Bike Storage for Covina Metrolink Commuters

Restrooms, indoor bike lockers and a bike repair area are available at the Covina Metrolink Station exclusively for registered users so that we can improve your multi-modal commuting options. Please call Covina City Hall at (626) 384-5520 to sign up, free of charge!

E-Bike Program, Launched in October 2022

The San Gabriel Valley is now home to a regional electric bike share program. Made possible by the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments and ActiveSGV, the GoSGV program offers San Gabriel Valley residents monthly subscriptions for electric-assist commuter and cargo bicycles. 

Classic Commuter Bikes are available starting at $69 per month for the general public, and $49 per month for students. 

Family Cargo Bikes are available for $129 per month for up to two months, and are designed to carry larger loads and/or small children.  Cargo bikes are rated to carry up to 550 pounds and are equipped with child seat belts.

Both bike styles feature internal gearing, integrated front and rear lights, puncture-resistant tires, one-size-fits-most step-through frames, and a reliable Bosch mid-drive motor, and are designed for hassle-free trips around town.  All bikes come equipped with a lock and charging cable.

TAP Cards & Transit Agency Information

The City does not sell TAP Cards and is not able to load Regular or Student TAP cards (Regular TAP cards are blue and Reduced Fare TAP cards are orange).  For TAP card questions or locations on where to purchase a new TAP card, please click on the following link Foothill Transit TAP Card Info, or call (866) 827-8646.

Dial-A-Ride

Covina Residents 60 years of age or older and those under 60 with an Access Services membership (or approved ADA Application) are eligible to use the Covina Transit Dial-A-Ride Program. Note that Covina residents possessing a valid Access Services identification card are also eligible for Covina Transit Dial-A-Ride.
The Dial-A-Ride Program provides curb-to-curb transportation service within City limits for registered participants, and also travels to local medical and government offices within a three (3) mile radius of Covina.
Dial-A-Ride operates Weekdays from 7am – 5:30pm (last appointment at 5:00pm) and Weekends from 7am – 3pm (last appointment at 2:30pm). Service not available on select holidays.

Registering for Covina Transit Dial-A-Ride Service

Please bring required documentation (a government-issued photo ID card and a utility bill or other proof of residency) to the Public Works Engineering Counter located at Covina City Hall, Monday through Thursday from 7am – 6pm. There is no cost to register and eligible participants are able to permanently use the service, as needed, once registered.

  • Trips to/from City Hall, the Senior & Community Center and other City facilities are Free
  • Trips within the City of Covina and to the Eastland Shopping Center are 25¢ one-way
  • Trips for medical appointments up to three miles outside of Covina city limits are $2.00 one-way
  • Trips to Kaiser Permanente in Baldwin Park/Irwindale and City of Hope in Duarte are $4.00 one-way
