National Night Out 2016 is August 2 Mon, 07/18/2016 Tuesday, August 2, 2016, will mark the 18th year that the City of Covina Police Department will participate in National Night Out.  National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.
Fireworks are NOT permitted within the Covina city limits Wed, 06/29/2016 With the 4th of July weekend upon us, we would like to remind you that fireworks are NOT permitted anywhere within the Covina city limits. This includes those fireworks that are considered "Safe and Sane."  The fine for being in possession, manufacturing, selling or discharging fireworks without a valid permit or license has been increased to $1000.  The Covina Police Department will be actively patrolling and those found in violation of the ordinance may be arrested and/or cited for the offense and the fireworks will be seized.    
Covina Day At The Fair Wed, 06/01/2016 The 2016 Los Angeles County Fair starts on September 2 and runs through September 25. This year, fair's "Community Days" promotion will include a "Covina Day" at the Fair, which will be held on Friday September 9th. As part of the "Covina Day" At The Fair promotion, Covina residents can purchase LA County Fair admission tickets for $5.00 each by presenting this discount ticket at the LA County Fair admissions or on the LA County Fair's website at www.LACountyFair.com/buytickets and using the promo code of "covina".  
The "Grand Opening" of the Covina Metrolink Station “Bike Hub” is Thursday May 19th Wed, 05/18/2016 The City of Covina’s “Bike Hub” located in the Covina Metrolink Station parking lot will open for business on May 19, 2016 starting at 7:30 AM. The “Bike Hub” is a brand new amenity offered by the City of Covina and provides a securely controlled environment for commuters to store their bicycles while they are traveling on the transit system. The “Bike Hub” can hold up to 40 bicycles and those who use the facility will also have access to an on-site restroom.

Water Main Repair at Badillo and Grand on May 3, 2016 Fri, 04/29/2016 Public Works staff will be working on repairs to a water main on Badillo Ave. and Grand Ave. on May 3, 2016 between the hours of 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.. There will lanes closed on both Badillo Ave. and Grand Ave.  Traffic delays may occur and motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes, if possible.
The City of Covina welcomes a New ALDI Grocery Store in Covina Thu, 04/21/2016 On April 21st, Covina City Council members and staff celebrated the grocer’s grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony.  The new ALDI Grocery Store is located at 1400 North Azusa Avenue, Covina with store hours 9AM-9PM.

Covina Community Senior Center Mon, 03/07/2016 The many years of service have weathered the Joslyn Center, and it has served our senior population well.  The safety and wellbeing of our entire community have always been of the highest importance but the Center has now been determined to be uninhabitable and it is cost prohibitive to attempt to rehabilitate it.  Due to these events, Covina’s Community & Senior Center has been temporarily relocated to Valleydale Park Community Center located in the City of Azusa.

The Covina Police Department arrested two suspects in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred Sunday June 8, 2014 Sun, 06/08/2014 Fernando Cabrera and Adam Romero, suspected gang members, have been arrested in connection with the shooting that occurred on the 300 block of N. Prospero Drive in Covina. A group of people reported being fired upon; fortunately, no injuries were reported
SoCal Gas Logo More Low-Income SoCalGas Customers Eligible for Bill-Assistance Programs Sun, 06/01/2014 Increased Income Guidelines Expand Eligibility The CARE program provides a 20 percent rate discount on the monthly natural gas bill for eligible households.  Those who qualify and are approved within 90 days of starting new gas service will also receive a $15 discount on the Service Establishment Charge. The Energy Savings Assistance Program provides no-cost, energy-efficient home improvements to income-qualified renters and homeowners.  
Stater Bros logo New Covina Stater Bros Market Fri, 05/30/2014 Stater Bros has announced plans to open a new "Blue Ribbon" Stater Bros Supermarket to serve the Covina community. The new market will occupy the former Albertsons Supermarket location at the southwest corner of Grand Ave and Covina Blvd.  This will be the first Stater Bros Supermarket in Covina.
