The City of Covina’s Finance Department has unclaimed property. The uncashed checks were issued and mailed, but have not been cashed three years or more after their issue date.

The City of Covina is currently in construction on pedestrian safety improvements at the Covina Metrolink Station and on Citrus Avenue and Front Street.  The purpose of this project is to limit unsafe pedestrian behavior and limit pedestrian / vehicle interactions.  The Metrolink station parking lot is closed from April 23, 2015 through the end of June 2015 for upgrades.  The Metrolink parking structure remains open and both station platforms remain open and operational.  Thank you for your understanding as we work to improve our infrastructure.  For project plans, please click HERE.


Construction is in process on the installation of a traffic signal, ADA accessability upgrades and bike lane upgrades at the intersection of Cienega and Glendora.  This project is scheduled for completion in June 2015.

Please be informed that traffic may be congested in the affected areas and plan alternate routes.

Pedestrian and Metrolink Station Improvements Project
Project No. T-0814B, Federal Project No. HPLUL-5118 (016) 

The City of Covina recently awarded the contract for the Metrolink Station Improvements Project to Hillcrest Contracting, Inc. The work will begin late February, 2015 and is expected to be completed by July 6, 2015. All work schedules are contingent upon weather conditions, and there could be delays as a result.

To minimize inconvenience and maximize your safety, parking will be prohibited in some areas during construction. Notices for parking restrictions will be posted 48 hours in advance. Expect some inconvenience during the times of construction in your area. Driveways and pedestrian paths of travel will be accessible or detour directions provided.
The contractor will do everything they can to control the job site during construction for the safety of pedestrians, drivers and Metrolink train commuters as this is a heavily trafficked area.

Construction Notice: Citywide LED Lighting Retrofit Project PDF Print E-mail

The City of Covina is working to improve energy efficiency by installing LED lighting on City-owned street poles throughout the City. This project includes the retrofitting of lights in the Downtown area, parking garages, municipal lots and surrounding streets as well as other areas throughout the City. The work will begin March 16, 2015 and is expected to be completed by June 12, 2015.  The project completion has been extended to allow for the retrofit of additional acorn lamps.  All work schedules are contingent upon weather conditions, and delays may occur as a result.

The project includes the following:

  • City-owned "Cobrahead" streetlights throughout the City
  • Acorn lights at the Metrolink Station platform and adjacent streets
  • Metrolink parking structure (garage) lighting (559 N. Citrus)
  • Acorn lights in the Downtown area and surrounding streets
  • Lighting in municipal lots and outside the Metrolink structure
