cal competes logoThe California Competes Tax Credit is an income tax credit available to busineses that want to locate in California or stay and grow in the state.  Tax credit agreements will be negotiated by the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development and approved by the California Competex Tax Credit Committee.  Each fiscal year, 25% of the available credits are reserved for small businesses.  Applications are accepted online and there is no fee to apply.

Pedestrian and Metrolink Station Improvements Project
Project No. T-0814B, Federal Project No. HPLUL-5118 (016) 

The City of Covina recently awarded the contract for the Metrolink Station Improvements Project to Hillcrest Contracting, Inc. The work will begin late February, 2015 and is expected to be completed by July 6, 2015. All work schedules are contingent upon weather conditions, and there could be delays as a result.

To minimize inconvenience and maximize your safety, parking will be prohibited in some areas during construction. Notices for parking restrictions will be posted 48 hours in advance. Expect some inconvenience during the times of construction in your area. Driveways and pedestrian paths of travel will be accessible or detour directions provided.
The contractor will do everything they can to control the job site during construction for the safety of pedestrians, drivers and Metrolink train commuters as this is a heavily trafficked area.

Economic Development Funds Available PDF Print E-mail

Funds are available to assist qualifying businesses in the City of Covina to expand and to create jobs.  The program is designed to create permanent jobs where at least 51% of which, computed on a full-time equivalent basis, involve the employment of low- and moderate-income persons.  Qualifying projects include retail/commercial businesses, high-tech industrial uses, and manufacturing businesses.  Home based businesses and service businesses do not qualify.

More Low-Income SoCalGas Customers Eligible for Bill-Assistance Programs PDF Print E-mail

socalgas logo webIncreased Income Guidelines Expand Eligibility

The CARE program provides a 20 percent rate discount on the monthly natural gas bill for eligible households.  Those who qualify and are approved within 90 days of starting new gas service will also receive a $15 discount on the Service Establishment Charge.

The Energy Savings Assistance Program provides no-cost, energy-efficient home improvements to income-qualified renters and homeowners.  

Now, more SoCalGas customers are eligible to take part in these state-sponsored, money-saving, no-cost customer assistance programs as a result of updated income guidelines that went into effect on June 1.
