More Low-Income SoCalGas Customers Eligible for Bill-Assistance Programs PDF Print E-mail

The CARE program provides a 20 percent rate discount on the monthly natural gas bill for eligible households.  Those who qualify and are approved within 90 days of starting new gas service will also receive a $15 discount on the Service Establishment Charge.

The Energy Savings Assistance Program provides no-cost, energy-efficient home improvements to income-qualified renters and homeowners.  

Now, more SoCalGas customers are eligible to take part in these state-sponsored, money-saving, no-cost customer assistance programs as a result of updated income guidelines that went into effect on June 1.

Level 2 Water Restrictions PDF Print E-mail

Water Restrictions

Please be advised that the City of Covina has declared a Level 2 Water Supply Shortage and has implemented additional mandatory water conservation measures effective July 31, 2015 for City of Covina water customers.

Restrictions include the following:

  • Effective November 1, watering or irrigating of lawn, landscape, or other vegetated areas with potable water is limited to Wednesdays during the winter months of November through March.
  • Watering of outdoor landscapes is prohibited during and within 48 hours of rainfall.
  • Watering or irrigating of lawn, landscape or other vegetated area with potable water is prohibited everyday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Watering or irrigating of lawn, landscape, or other vegetated areas with potable water is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes per station per day.
  • No runoff is allowed from irrigation.
  • Washing down hard or paved surfaces, including but not limited to sidewalks, walkways, driveways, parking areas, tennis courts, patios or alleys, is prohibited.
  • All leaks, breaks, and other malfunctions in the water user’s plumbing or distribution system must be repaired within forty-eight (48) hours of notification by the City.

New Covina Stater Bros Market PDF Print E-mail

staterbroslogoStater Bros has announced plans to open a new "Blue Ribbon" Stater Bros Supermarket to serve the Covina community.

The new market will occupy the former Albertsons Supermarket location at the southwest corner of Grand Ave and Covina Blvd.  This will be the first Stater Bros Supermarket in Covina.

The supermarket will undergo a complete remodel and open as a "Blue Ribbon" Stater Bros Supermarket before the end of this year.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the Northridge earthquake, Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas®) would like to remind customers about natural gas safety in the event of an earthquake.

If you smell gas, hear the sound of gas escaping or see signs of a leak, do not light a match, candle or cigarette and do not turn electrical devices – not even a light switch – on or off, or use any device that can cause a spark. Immediately evacuate the area of the leak and, from a safe location, call SoCalGas at 1-800-427-2200.

The City of Covina’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling station, located at the City’s Corporate Yard, 534 N. Barranca Avenue, Covina, CA 91723 has undergone a significant upgrade during the past four months to modernize the station and allow it to meet the significant increase in demand for CNG fuel.
