Homeless families seeking help should dial 2-1-1, the County information and referral line.

 

Volunteers of America (VOA)

Homeless Access and Outreach Centers

Provides general needs assistance to homeless individuals and families, direct emergency assistance and community referral. Some assistance is dependent on fund availability. As of July 1, 2014, VOA also manages entry into the Coordinated Entry System for this area. This is the gateway for homeless individuals to receive help.

Provides resources to families experiencing or at-risk of becoming homeless. Provides assessments and interventions; connection to crisis housing and supportive services; financial assistance for rapid re-housing

 

Eligibility: Income limits; a family consisting of one or more minor children in custody of adults; homeless or at-risk of homelessness.

The EAC Staff assists with emergency needs of the homeless and those at risk, including a sack lunch, showers, hygiene kits, bus tokens, gas vouchers, motel vouchers for families and counseling and advocacy for those who need help. The clients often use the EAC office address to receive their mail.

Provides outpatient drug and alcohol services, and a shelter program. The shelter program maintains a waiting list.
