Covina Bicycle News
The City of Covina was recently awarded over $800,000 in funding for bicycle lanes on Citrus Avenue, Second Avenue, Badillo Street and Azusa Avenue in the 2011 MTA Call for Projects. The City also received funding from this grant for a second Bikestation in Downtown Covina. This money will be available to the City of Covina for construction in 2015 and will help to fill a missing segment of a regional bicycle lane that will one day connect the San Gabriel River Bike Path with the Pacific Electric Bicycle Trail in Claremont that leads to the Inland Empire city of Rialto.
Secure bike storage for Metrolink commuters.
City of Covina residents who possess a valid senior or disabled TAP card may receive subsidized monthly METRO and Foothill Transit bus passes when they sign up for the City's bus pass subsidy program. Proof of City of Covina residency is required to participate in the bus pass subsidy program. The City does not load regular or student TAP cards, and does not offer EZ passes for sale.
To apply for a TAP card, you must complete an application available here. For TAP card questions, please contact MTA toll free at 1(866) 827-8646.
Bus passes are sold to eligible program participants from the 25th of the month through the 10th of the following month during regular business hours at the Finance Department counter at City Hall and at the Joslyn Senior Center.
