Paws to Read!
Wag your tails and stomp your paws for this animal extravaganza! It’s fun for all ages and easy to join. Anyone who attends at least three events in their age group will be entered into a grand prize drawing. To sign up, go to the Summer Reading Program table under the red umbrella.

“PAWS TO GIVE” KICKOFF: June 14-August 1
Kick off the Summer Reading Program through giving. Animal shelters provide so many loving pets with shelter, food and care and all rely on generous donations from people like you to be able to keep providing in the future. Be a part! Donate items like dog food, cat food, and kitty litter, throw blankets, chew toys and more. The Covina Public Library will deliver all items to a local animal shelter in need. ADOPT-A-PET DAY: Saturday, August 2, 11 am-3 pm
End the Summer Reading Program with heart! A local animal shelter will be visiting the Covina Public Library with many pets in need of loving homes. Can you or anyone you know provide a forever home to an animal in need?
Children (ages 4-12)
Earn a “Paws” tag by participating in any event marked with a PAW PRINT.
“PAWS AT WORK” K-9 Demonstration: Thursday, June 26, 12-1 pm

SCAVENGER HUNT SATURDAY: July 12
Play the scavenger hunt game to look for items throughout the library! Get all answers correct and receive a mystery prize.
“PAWS TO REFLECT” COLORING AND PHOTO CONTEST: July 15-19
Children (up to age 8) can participate in a coloring or photo (ages 7-12) contest. Take a picture of your favorite animal or volunteer at a local animal shelter and take a picture of your experience! Winners will be displayed the following week.
BOOK BUDDIES! Thursday, July 24, 1:30-2:30 pm
Learning how to read? Want to show off your reading skills? Come join us and we’ll pair you with your very own Book Buddy! Spend a fun filled hour reading your favorite books to someone or have them read to you! Preregistration required. Please contact Krizia Virbia at

CRITTER CARD CRAFT! Wednesday, July 30, 1:30-3:30 pm
Come join us for our Critter Card Craft! Brighten up an animal’s day at (local pet shelter TBD) by creating a homemade card for a special animal!
