|Sergeant Ray Marquez|
Sergeant Ray Marquez began his career with the Covina Police Department in 1996. After graduating the academy, Sergeant Marquez worked as a patrol officer and later as a Field Training Officer. Sergeant Marquez also held a collateral assignment as an observer as part of the department's helicopter program known as F.A.S.T.
Sergeant Marquez also worked as a School Resource Officer before transferring to the Detective Bureau and being assigned as a Property Crimes detective.
Sergeant Marquez promoted to his current rank in December, 2007 and he is currently the sergeant assigned to the Training Bureau. As the Training Sergeant, he is responsible for coordinating training for all Covina Police Department officers, as well as handling Press Information Officer duties for both English and Spanish print, radio and television media. Sergeant Marquez also acts as the department’s supervisor and liaison to the F.A.S.T. helicopter program.
Sergeant Marquez has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the California State University-Long Beach.
