WalczakLieutenant Ric Walczak has worked for the Covina Police Department since January, 1996. Lieutenant Walczak worked in the Patrol Division as an officer and Field Training Officer before being selected to work as a Special Enforcement Team Detective. As a SET Detective Lieutenant Walczak specialized in conducting gang and narcotic investigations. Lieutenant Walczak also worked as a Crimes Against Persons Detective before promoting to Sergeant in 2007.

Lieutenant Walczak has also been a member of the departments Special Response Team (SRT) since its inception. SRT is the department’s tactical unit. Lieutenant Walczak served as the team’s scout and one of two sergeants assigned to the team.

As a sergeant, Lieutenant Walczak worked a patrol sergeant until being assigned to the Professional Standards Office in 2010 where he was responsible for supervising the Crime Prevention Unit and conducting Internal Affairs investigations.

Lieutenant Walczak promoted to lieutenant in 2012 and is assigned to the Patrol Division.

Lieutenant Walczak is currently attending the University of La Verne and working towards his Bachelors Degree in Public Administration.
