On April 21st, Covina City Council members and staff celebrated the grocer’s grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony.  The new ALDI Grocery Store is located at 1400 North Azusa Avenue, Covina with store hours 9AM-9PM. 
The City is excited to continue to work with community members in an effort to identify, fund, purchase, design and construct the much needed Community & Senior Center. As we continue our assessment of the Covina Community & Senior Center Project, we have developed a "Frequently Asked Questions" list from those questions posed during the past three Community Workshops. As a part of Metrolink's commitment to safety and reliability, Metrolink temporarily leased 40 BNSF locomotives to power their trains while the National Transportation Safety Board completes its investigation into Metrolink's Oxnard incident that occurred in February of 2015. The BNSF locomotives look and sound different than Metrolink locomotives; however, BNSF locomotives are more powerful and are equipped with life-saving Positive Train Control Technology.
At the April 5th Covina City Council Meeting, an updated staff report was presented to the Council; to consider refinement of the following possible site locations:

On March 15, 2016 at 6:00 PM, Covina Mayor John King will present the 2016 Covina State of the City Address in an open meeting inside the Covina Council Chambers. The meeting is open to the public and will provide an opportunity for the community to hear Mayor King discuss Covina's accomplishments over the past year, as well as the strategic plans for the future.  The presentation will be given inside the City of Covina City Council Chambers located at 125 E. College Street in the City of Covina.           
The many years of service have weathered the Joslyn Center, and it has served our senior population well.  The safety and wellbeing of our entire community have always been of the highest importance but the Center has now been determined to be uninhabitable and it is cost prohibitive to attempt to rehabilitate it.  Due to these events, Covina’s Community & Senior Center has been temporarily relocated to Valleydale Park Community Center located in the City of Azusa.
